Note for self: Hyat might be the last piece on the board (for now) But already proving to be the most interesting development in an established character. The plot thickens

To know the future absolutely is to be trapped into that future absolutely. It collapses time. Present becomes future. I require more freedom than that.

Leave absolute knowledge of the future to those moments of déjà vu which any human may experience. I know the trap of prescience.

There are illusions of popular history which a successful religion must promote: Evil men never prosper; Only the brave deserve the fair; honesty is the best policy; Actions speak louder than words; virtue always triumphs; A good deed is its own reward; Any bad human can be reformed; religious talismans protect one from demon possession; only females understand ancient mysteries; the rich are doomed to unhappiness.

Oh, how I do NOT miss this character.

To be truly at one with the virtue of the spice, uncorrupted in all ways, full of goodly honor, a man must permit his deeds and words to agree. When your actions describe a system of evil consequences, you should be judged by those consequences and not by your explanations.

It feels slower than we're actually going

I’ve found that I like when the title is bigger than the author.

Growth for growths sake is the logic of a cancer cell.

Looks like the vibes are gonna be thicker than blood in this one. I’m hoping so, makes a detective story memorable.

Power isn’t just having choices. Power is being able to decide whether you must choose at all.

Re-read. Great short stories. Didn’t know they came from the Legacy lineup and then went back to write these. I’ll have to check that out one day.

His style is very lively.

Curious to see if Xanth will be a pleasant surprise or not. Nice to see old Tweezel return.

Moving forward for the first time, it’s nice to see the world evolving. After quite a time gap and so much changing, the world feels fresh again but still retains that odd familiarity I quite enjoy.
