This is a book to be savored and listened to slowly. To enjoy the Count and his characters. To feel the hotel walls and how they morph as years pass.

The tension is killing me!

I can't get over the detail in this book and the stress I feel second-handedly for Javier.

Javier Zamora paints such a clear picture, I feel like I was there. I'm at the point where he finally left his grandpa and now he is alone. I CANNOT even begin to fathom that. I have a 10 year old and letting him cross borders with strangers breaks my heart (the necessity of it, the powerlessness the parents probably felt, the unknown).

This book is perfect to read with my son! We take turns per chapter and it is nice that they are so short.

Ok, this author should be a narrator for more books. Her voice sounds so beautiful.

Wait, what?! Nazi Germany looked to the USA for a caste system. It puts into perspective how bad the country was, especially at the time of lynchings. This book is so eye opening, but also so hard to read.

What types of decisions need to be made and how does it make the boss and team look? It’s something I haven’t had the chance to dig into yet and it’s so important!

Principle-first versus concept-first versus holistic approach… something I’ve never thought about to be persuasive! It blows my mind how across the globe, our expectations are so different.

I'm already intrigued as someone who works with people from many different backgrounds/cultures.

I want to know what happens but I don't think I can handle that this is the end of the series!!!

My kids are loving the book so far and the big words help their vocabulary.

AHH, I just want the MCs to be back together. ❤️ The tension is killing me.
