Honestly this is a huge let down... The writing is leaning heavily lower YA (except a random VERY spicy scene?) and there are a ton of plot holes. Not enough time is passing for the events to be believable and the characters are one rather dimensional. Not to mention she regurgitated King Henry VIII's story as the story for the late King (multiple wives, jousting injury, and all the details of that). Pretty ballsy.

This is getting really REALLY good. Dare I say I like this one more than book 1?!

Just.... Wow. That was so fucked up. Learning a lot about why Jorg is the way he is. His father deserves what is coming to him. Fuck that guy!

I'm still super confused about the scene in the grave yard. WTF is going on?

This book isnot bad it's just...confusing... There are a lot of names and places to remmeber and not eough real explanation. I also am noticing that the bckground information feels incomplete. So far nothing really triggering.

Either this is a faster paced book than the first two, or I have become very comfortable with Hobb's writing. I'm definitely getting through it faster. I'm on the edge of my seat the whole time... And Fitz is giving me anxiety! The suspense in each plot progression is stressful. I need to see what happens next how long before he sees Verity? Does Regal die? Wtf are Elderlings?! IS MOLLY PREGNANT?!

This story is.... OK... And only OK... Very predictable, and pretty boring. I think I would like it if it wasn't the most stereotypical basic fantasy I've ever heard. I'm not going to waste my time on it. The writing is good, it really is, but the story is just so damn boring...
