Hokay, so I know people’s predictions are never right for Freida books but I’m guessing EJ is Tricia’s husband, he became jealous Dr. Hale started seeing Luke and he thinks he killer her but she pretended to die like her patient to survive and has been “phrogging” in her house ever since (Judy is her new literary agent after Paige?) And she helps Tricia get away ultimately. Idk. Let’s see.

I love this series but this scene where the breathing instructor tells the class “if you are unable to do your duty as a mother and push your baby down your doctor will be forced to cut it out”. Is ignorant as fuck and sad coming from a woman author. My beautiful baby NEEDED to be born via planned c-section or else she would have died. Needed a break from NetGalley arc’s so I pulled one off my shelf I’ve been dying to get to. Really into the plot so far.

I’ve been hooked since an event that happened early on. This is a delightful ‘is she just nuts or are they that fucked up?’ Mystery and eating it up.

How can Ms. Barnett be teaching history with Tori and Emma when Emma gets called to the office and also teaching Latin where Henry is when he hears the page for Emma?

Still here…. I <3 some smut but there’s something that feels really wrong about reading a scene between two 18 year olds at a boarding school. This is a very stale dragged on story at this point though, about a hundred ish pages to go so maybe there’s hope…

So she met with her dad and things didn’t go as planned. A main plot point of the synopsis was discovering the mystery of where and why he left and that was barely discussed and it already resolved…. Is there really another 140 pages of underwhelming teenage angst romance?

Does it get better….? While, tbf, the characters are very developed at this point. It’s just that instead of developing them while the story is being told the story is only them chit chatting and there’s nothing happening plot wise at all.

I feel like by now- something interesting should have went down or a question should be raised to pique our curiosity. 57 pages in and still dealing with a ‘welcome to your new home’ boarding school theme. While fleshing out the characters well through banter there’s nothing in the story so far to really care about said characters. Our FMC mentions a missing dead but even those mentions are dull.

It’s really hard for me to picture Alistair as our MMC because this entire time I’ve been picturing Arnold Rothstein from boardwalk empire and now he’s supposed to be this zdaddy sex god? I’m working through it. I can’t wait for the plot to show more about what happened to Lucien.

While some tones of this book are still juvenile, immature (maybe it’s just the will never be able to relate to an entitled bratty influencer…?) the demonic possession parts of this book are honestly unsettling and I can’t wait to see more horrors unfold. Also while it may be hard to relate to the bratty influencer type character I think this is an example of a flawed character where we aren’t meant to

There are some tones in this that are very— juvenile? Like this is more relatable to the gen z girlies but it’s still an enjoyable read and I’m curious to see where this ends up going

I received this in a sub box so I figured let’s go tie the season and this book is referencing Jaclyn Hill’s lipstick gate and I’m fucking dying that’s all.
