I read this as a child and loved it. But given my more complex and engaging reads lately. This is a somewhat disjointed book. Enjoyable. But unless you’re a hardened fantasy reader it really is just thoughts on a page. That said maybe I’m just not getting his style of writing. Which is most likely it!

Initially not as enticing as a Robin Hobb read. At least when I started the liveship traders it was the first of her TROTE that I tried. It took me a good couple of hundred to be really taken in by it. Then it turned into the best books id ever read.

I am now. Now starting to see how amazing or epic this book is. It takes until you’re at the half way mark for you to really get it. Both characters & plot.

Probably one of the funniest so far. Absolutely love it. Mick Herron is a comical, and espionage, genius.
