I’m temporarily shelving this book.

It’s the second Non-Fiction in a row that I have put on my DNF shelf, not because it’s rubbish, in fact the exact opposite - it’s very good, but I am not in the right headspace to enjoy, or more importantly, understand it.

I'm taking a break from reading this book, it's just a slog for me at the moment - I've been in bed unwell for the last 5 days & I need something stimulating & fast paced to keep my brain active.

This is a story of a former RAF pilot's career, which is interesting & educational, but my brain can't cope with that level of concentration at the moment, so I'm going to put it back in my TBR folder for a nother time.

My initial thoughts on this book so far:

As a widow of 26 months I can relate to this portrayal of how grief can impact your every waking moment, & in my case sleeping moments too … I often dream that my late husband comes home, very much alive - it’s heartbreaking in the morning to rediscover that I’m STILL a widow.

I hope I can read this book without too much emotional distress!
