Already, it’s a bit off putting that the mfc goes with a man into a bathroom when they first met. Albeit for a valid(ish) reason but I would never.
Plus wouldn’t you think you need to be at the scene if you were quite literally a full on witness???

I will say though that this is a good book- now is the author a good person- absolutely not. He’s the quintessential embodiment of a douche bag and a psychopath LOL
But we must be open to the idea that he is, in fact, a good writer- at least in my opinion.

When it comes to memoirs, I can’t help but think about the idea of unreliable narrators.

It’s a bit of a mind boggling experience that influencers have human experiences too.

I’m in and out of consciousness when reading. One moment I wanna glaze through this and then the next I’m locked the fuck in.

Ugh…. I took a break from reading this. I’m rn on 106- but I am so nervous for the ending. I think I will most certainly cause the next catastrophic flood due to the heart break I’m about to endure.

Wow. The grief in this book is powerful, as well as the hope. My heart dropped multiple times, and the fear of my own impending death as I get older has never been more illuminated. I am curious how this ends as the narrator is telling this in past tense, recounting her experiences.

This is book deserves its high ratings for sure.

Daunting the book is 500+ pages but ya know- it’s actually pretty good and giving Midsommar vibes but in the Deep South during mass racism.
