Det är så oerhört ofattbart att det en gång såg ut såhär i Sverige. Att barn svalt bort innan de ens var ett år fyllda, det går liksom inte att föreställa sig idag men det är knappt 150 år sedan det var så. Misär.

Oml jag älskar den meningen. Omänskligt mänskligt var verkligen perfekt beskrivet och det låter så rätt ur annikas perspektiv också 🙏🏼

Jag älskar verkligen historiska romaner 😝

Jag hoppas verkligen att han och lotten lyckas skapa ett bättre liv tillsammans, precis som han vill. Den här boken är typ vad jag föreställer mig att utvandrarna är, fast baserat i Stockholm istället.

The writing is so good. How did she even think of that??? The subtlety in it. Of course she doesn't remember if it was the coach or the princess who turned into a pumpkin. It was a lifetime ago she could, and did, read fairytales.

Oml the way the men were successfull in manipulating so many women into believing this is all for their best. In some ways they have a point BUT YOU ROBBED THEM NOT ONLY OF THE CHANCE OF FALLING IN LOVE (like Offred said) BUT ALSO OF THEIR LITERAL FREEDOM.

I'm trying to drag it out because i already don't want this book to end 💔

The sin of reading.

Idk why but those four words are what has made me feel the most in this book so far. The way it is just a given, to Offred it has become a sin. That's what she's been taught to believe.

I love how we get to know more and more about her life before the revolution. And also the fact that it's not only a story about her position and purpose in this household, but about all women's.

Oh, how i love dystopian books ❤️

I feel like i'm finally getting a hang of who everyone is. There's so many important characters and I finally figured them out but now half of them is either dead or dying 💔

Istg barbara is one of the most annoying characters i already can't stand her. She's so negative all the time?? She said her life's calling was raising this kid but she can't actually raise a kid? And every time she's in this book it's like she's just tired and miserable.

Jag blir typ nostalgisk av att läsa den trots att jag inte har någon koppling alls till finska öar eller vikar.

Gud vad förvånad jag blev när det helt plötsligt berättades från Bodils synvinkel. Jag trodde hela boken skulle tala om henne som ett minne men nu blev hon mer på riktigt på något sätt.

Den här boken känns otroligt långsam 😞

Jag gillar att man får lära känna Bodil genom andras berättelser, och nathans tankar såklart.
