At first I was like "thats my bad for reading a male writer from probably the late 80s early 90's" but oops it turns out I'm older than I thought and this was written in the early 2000s. I'm going to go back to my mostly queer or female writers after this. Grady Hendrix and Matt Dinniman get a pass but that is IT.

I'm having such a hard time with this book because it'll be going fine and then the protagonist will note the corpse whose chest had been torn open has great tiddies, or talk about how a woman has "enough fullness of mouth to look very feminine" and that :She had a good face for blushing, fair skin that colored girlishly"

Don't mind me, just adding stuff to my want to read list even though I know damn well I'm going to be ride or dieing Dungeon Crawler Carl for at least three more books.

Every book I want to read is at least 10 people deep on Libby and I'm upset about it lol. Hopefully some of my physical holds come in soon

I think my favorite this about Wicked thus far, is that it is a book about Elphaba BUT thirty percent in and it has only ever been from the point of view of Elphaba in the prologue. Its telling her story from the perspective of those around her, which is a writing style I have yet to encounter elsewhere.

I read Wicked when I was a teenager, and quite enjoyed it so I figured I needed to re-read it since the movie is coming out. I never saw the musical but I hear it was changed a great deal from the book, so I'm glad to have it fresh in my memory. I'm also glad it is as good as I remember and not hot garbage like the last book I re-read from my teens.

I'm so happy a library opened a few blocks from my house and I can read physical books.
