Intriguing. Reading this for a book club so we’ll see.

Delightful. Precious. Inspirational.

Some of Hari’s ideas are falling flat. Don’t like your job? Well, just become part of a collective. That’ll fix you right up. I’m resentful that this is part of a chapter that begins with the promise of ways we can all infuse our work with meaning. He only gives the collective idea as a solution. Nothing else.

This story is precious.

“Loneliness isn’t the physical absence of other people…it’s the sense that you’re not sharing anything that matters with anyone else.”

I’m not dealing with depression currently, but I have dealt with it before and so have people I love. I’m very much interested in the lies we’ve been told by Big Pharma and I’m also a big fan of finding hope. Both of these topics are covered in this book.

“I paint life as I would like it to be.” NR

I understand completely.

“It’s good to realize that within us there is someone who knows everything, wills everything, does everything better than we ourselves.”

Just starting but already struck by: “Each man’s life represents a road toward himself…” and oh does this resonate.

The inaugural Joiner spouses’ book club book. Very much out of my wheelhouse but it’s good to be challenged.

This is a challenge on multiple levels.

Determined to figure out why this is considered a classic but somehow I feel like I’m going to get in trouble for reading it. 🫣
