28% so far- so much word dumping. I feel like the author could take out 25% of her writing and it would still be the same story. Also FMC is nothing like the strong badass she started book 1 as. She’s needy, she lets the men control her every move and seems to have no purpose in life which granted the trauma healing but still. The very long internal dialogues from Maize is making me skim over paragraphs.

I’m going to put this on the DNF shelf. Just couldn’t hold my attention and I can’t finding myself going to other more interesting books.

In the previous book Ryker had no knowledge of Kya being from Atara but in this book it starts off just assumed he knew when she disappears. They made it such a big deal that she was hiding this from him and then poof he knows when she’s gone???? Fishy fishy.
