the way that the love interest for two of the main characters is LITERALLY a tulip is actually insane. Obviously the title clued me in, but this book takes tulip mania to the next level

the opening few chapters of this book are crazy and violent, tbh not what I was expecting from this book but i’m not mad about it

Robert Jordan gets it, he really really gets it

Hemingway using “obscenity” instead of an actual curse word is not that funny but every time i read it i chuckle. Love that he censored himself, it feels like when tiktok ppl say “unalived” instead of murdered

It’s dragging for me and I KNOW the books are really good and that they get better but i’m STRUGGLING

also robert jordan is so funny without trying, like why does he hate everyone so casually it’s hilarious (maybe it’s in fact not funny and he is a victim/the product of fighting in a war that even if he’s on the winning side he’ll never get to be normal again because everyone at home will think he’s a communist)

ok like it’s good, but is he gonna blow up the bridge soon??????? also him and maria: kinda toxic but 🫶🏼
