I have found that while one might not be able to judge a book by its cover, you can absolutely and accurately judge it if the paragraphs are not justified.

I'm having a hard time taking a book where the main duo are named Wax and Wayne seriously....

Waiting for someone to come in and start slapping the characters for making an idol of the Chalice... Alas, as Paul has made several appearances and hasn't done it yet it's probably not going to happen, even if it should.

Maybe if you make an audiobook of a novel and want to have all the characters to have the French accent, just hire a French person to read it instead giving it to an American and having them fake an accent every time someone talks? Like he's not doing a horrific job of it, but it's still jarring to think about.

What sort of toxic masculinity, patriarchal nonsense am I reading! Our love interest MARRIED HER WHILE SHE WAS HARDLY CONSCIOUS and then uses it to try and force her to be his perfect little farm wife. When she fights against this forced control on her life he gets so angry he wants to hit her but knows if he let himself do so HE WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO STOP HIMSELF FROM KILLING HER.

The GoodReads paradox is that the more you try to read your to-read list down, the more time you spend on GoodReads and the more books you add to the to-read list, thereby making zero progress.

These sorts of books always end up being so disappointing. And yet here I am, because my love of Firefly whispers to me that maybe this time a companion book to a beloved TV show might not be terrible.
