my first experience with an antihero in a novel that I cannot seem to root for at all — even though he seems to suffer from alexithymia, he is unaware of this, and causes him a lot of confusion. nonetheless the constant inaction due to indifference is infuriating. the only compelling theme so far for me is how camus equates his character's lack of feeling with the experience of heat or blaring sun and or sweat.
