Okay Lazarus' plan was really dumb. I don't even know how the author can logically explain why she even reasoned Death could join humanity for a day. Like obviously people know who he is and they're gonna try to kill him.

I like how much detail the book goes into with all the science stuff, it makes me feel smart lol.

This is just TOO good, I'm obsessed with this couple and their chemistry and this storyline and these scenes and the romance and the symbolism and just EVERYTHING.

The book grabs my attention right from the start, whereas it took me some time to warm up to the movie. I'm really loving it so far!

It's like the boy who cried wolf but the girls who cried witch and were annoying about it.

So far, much better than the last book I had to read. What I wanna know is, what are these children getting out of lying about being bewitched? Like why would a bunch of kids go this far to accuse specific, random people?

Ugh I love the other horsemen so much, they're so funny and sweet. And Death is so cute in his goofy way. I can't wait to see what part 2 of the story holds! Now we're really getting into the meat of it.

I'm all for looking at history from another angle and perspective, but this seems incredibly biased...

Ah we're attacking my religion now. I see. So being white and Christian makes me a monster apparently🙄

And so begins my University's attempt at brainwashing me into thinking I'm a horrible person for what my ancestors did🫡

Aghhhhhh Famine is now my favorite horseman, that was so cuuuteee!

I don't know how I feel about a baby being brought into the story, but the whole thing made me sad. Babies do not belong in apocalyptic worlds😭

So Death has all the same powers as his brothers in addition to his own? That does make sense. The concepts of pestilence, war, and famine all connect to death. I love how detailed and intricate these books can be. They really make me think.

I love this little rivalry they have going on, it's so fun and I can tell it's reaching a point where they're both just playing with each other.

Death is definitely my favorite horseman. Everything about him and his character design is so cool! Also I love how this one consistently switches between his POV and the main character's so that I'm getting the story and emotions from both sides throughout.

I FORGOT HOW FUNNY THIS BOOK IS🤣🤣🤣 Also knowing everything I know from my first read and reading the silly little intro again...guys I wish Xie Lian's life was actually as full of whimsy as they try to make it sound😭

This story has been my hyperfixation for the past year and I think it's time for a reread

CHAPTER 24 WAS MY FAVORITE CHAPTER IN THIS WHOLE SERIES. The ball, Ana's dress, the massacre, THE WAY ANA EXPLODED AT THIS MAN AND TOLD HIM TO STOP WHINING. AGHHH I LOVED IT ALL I NEED MORE!!!

There was this massive build up leading to what happened to Famine in the past. They spent so much time constantly bringing up his trauma and KILLING me with curiosity. And then it was just...that. I mean, it was sad of course but I expected that. It was too plain. Unless they explain it in more detail later in the book? I hope they do because that was a little stale for the hype.
