Is Peter driving Alice away from Delphine because he is going to start an affair with her and because she possess the traits that Alice does not?

Note to return back to - in one of the Alice 1950s chapters, she mentioned at a a pare to a few years prior she drank too much and had something happen with one of her husband’s now former friends - was she raped or was it consensual?

I wondered this earlier in the novel and now the question of why the FMC didn’t try to fight for her relationship with Yash? Why did she just recoil and wait years to communicate with him? She didn’t swallow her pride and fight for their relationship, maybe they could have been that great love story or at least a love story.

At first I liked Sam and thought “Jordan” deserved better. I patiently waited for her and Yash to start something, as it was clear they had a stronger connection. Then, the airport scene which was definitely foreshadowed but still crushing.
