There's just so much to enjoy about this book

I am already enjoying this book so much more than the first. Quippy banter is the key to my heart, apparently, because I'm here for this one already.

Tbf, stopping this in the middle to read Fourth Wing probably didn't help, but I can't help but feel like the execution from this author is just lacking something. Some finesse or thoughtfulness or.. I really can't put a finger on it. Just something. What is going on with Isla? Why does it feel like she's a stranger to herself? Why can't she make a decision or commit to something for herself? Is this girl okay?
