I huff a laugh. ”Cody is right. You really are a little shit.”
”Oh, no, baby. That’s where you’re wrong. There’s nothing little about me. Maybe one day you’ll learn exactly what kind of size I’m working with.”

”Travis,” she says, ignoring me. ”How exactly did you make the very poor decision to become his friend?”
”Probably the same way you decided to become his wife.”

I huff a laugh under my breath. I vaguely remember thinking abou this answer before. ”Yellow.”
”Yellow.” He appraises my answer. ”Why yellow?”

Isaiah chuckles. ”I’m a cuddler, Ken. Are you a snorer? I hope not, but then again, I’ll probably snuggle you so hard you won’t be avle to breath anyway.”
My eyes narrow. ”Was that supposed to be romantic? Telling me you’re going to suffocate me?”
”But in a loving way. I’m going to suffocate you in a loving way.”

She grabs a discarded pillow and chucks it at my face, but I catch it before it take contact. ”There’s nothing cute about this. This was a drunken mistake.”
”I prefer the term ’happy accident.’”

”Mmm,” he mums. ”I should warn you, Ken, I like it when you’re mean. It does something to me.”
”So that’s why you haven’t left me alone all these years? I should’ve been nice to you all this time, I guess.”
”I probably would’ve proposed a handful of times by now if you were. Nice. Mean. I’ll take you any way I can get you.”

”I love you. I wish I’d said it more. But I love you, Quinlan, ans…” His throat closed up, his eyes stinging. His lips brushed her brow. ”Our love is stronger than time, greater than any distance. Our love spans across stars and worlds. I will find you again. I promise.”

Bryce’s lips had gone white from pressing them together so hard. Her eyes was bright with unshed tears. Ruhn lokked at his sister and said softly, ”You brought so much joy into my life, Bryce.”
It was perhaps the only goodbye they’d be able to make.
