Either this is unexpected and accelerated character growth or we are getting another "enemies to lovers plot line" and I have a feeling its the latter.

Oh my god, I hate Sybil, her ex-husband sends her a letter (even though he doesn't write letters) telling her he has cancer and wants to see her before he dies. She ignores him, he dies, and she doesn't even go to his funeral. She also killed a cat, which is way worse.
