ninth story (another frequency) reminded me of the magnus archives i love

eight story (moon witch) really interesting concepts actually i liked it

the seventh story (the mothers) was really similar to some of the other stories in the book and started pretty intriguing but had an anticlimactic ending

sixth story (arcadia lakes) was interesting. kinda like ponyo

fifth story (flying) confused

fourth story (the maiden) huh ok

third story (erl king) hmmmm interesting. obviously i loved the twin peaks parallels and the explicit mention of bob. this one was my favorite so far. much to think about. ew gross

second story (hellions) was sweet and sad and southern and had strong imagery i liked it. reminded me of something i would've read in elementary school and remembered forever

first story (bride) was interesting and didn't end how i thought it would. i liked it but the attempts at writing old english ish took me out of it i think

thought this was a book about lesbians with swords. it's not but i'm sticking around

hot take but i love that sally rooney doesn't use quotation marks

this books smells so good
