Please, please, please. This has all the bones to be my new favorite book 🙏🙏🙏 I mean the illustration?!?!?!! 😍 also I am fascinated by the fact that a name is redacted….it has to be Una, right?

I’m sad but this book is a DNF for me. I spent so long waiting for this Libby hold to come in and it just was not the right book to be reading at the time. It has all the bones of a classic murder mystery and a cool book within a book concept but I just could not get into it. Hoping to come back to it at some point, maybe the audiobook?

Okay, I see why this is such a highly rated book beyond the fact that primal play and voyeurism is so popular among the women on booktok. The emotional gut punch of this twist is something Alright

You know I am honestly kind of doubting all the threads can be wrapped up these last 100 pages of the book. It seems like such a short amount of time and shit hasn’t hit the fan yet (but it’s clear it will soon)

Honestly really nice seeing someone else struggle with migraines like I do. My money is still on Aidia. They are presenting all of these people but she would be the most interesting and it was emphasized by Harlow when theorizing about Bea that you never suspect women of being capable of that kind of thing

Pet peeve of mine when an author says something has happened only twice and then follow it up with only telling you what one time was. It feels incomplete and I don’t like it

Gosh darn it. Sometimes I wish sleep wasn’t necessary. I’m not fully sold but this book is mostly a good time, even when you remove the romantasy elements it has a pretty solid world and plot. I do question how things work with these two cities being so cut off and stuff and there’s some convenient reveals of things figured out by the forts people. I can’t fully put my figure in it but something is off there

Is his mothers power basically necromancy? He keeps talking about anyone who returned….when I ask returned from what the only thing I can think is death and Asher is the divine of endings so I would assume he has power over death

Interesting for sure. I really wanted a classic whodunnit and it looks like that’s what this will be, plus the book inception is a rather intriguing concept. I feel like I need a break from reading though to process all of the information that was dumped. The character backstory’s are very detailed and it’s a lot…

Wait, the preachers chapter made me think the son was dead….. He said they’d be laying her to rest next to her son but the sons right here and he said it was just the two of them in lodge house

Overall I am enjoying reading this book. It feels like a fresh take on romantasy and doesn’t fall into the same characters different font category which is REALLY nice. I have questions but I’ll wait to see if the are answered by the end of the book

What if Aidia is somehow Rochelli? She wasn’t there and said it was because of Rafe but that might not be the case. Maybe it’s her way of getting revenge on her family by slowly sowing dissent and dismantling their empire?

This book is honestly so fun. It’s presented in such a neat way and way more interesting than real world celebrities

Okay honestly this seems like a good time. Lots of female rage, an intriguing and well thought out world, a magic system that I am excited to explore, and much more. I have high hopes given the strong start seems to align with the high rating!

I think this one might be my favorite so far. Artists struggling to find inspiration is interesting but it’s always compelling seeing someone torn between duty and passion

Charming. I like that there is a little more detail and world building than the first book. I really appreciate the glossary. It helps when a book is so short because explanations wouldn’t really fit into the flow of a fast paced narrative
