It is really creepy being in the kind of a serial killer. Something that’s different about this book that I find interesting (and a little frustrating like when Sam didn’t immediately put to and to together that Bonnie shut down after finding out the last name of her boyfriend) is you know who the villain is from the start and you’re just hoping the good guy (Sam) catches up in time

I think the most outlandish thing so far is the lack of security cameras. It feels like everywhere I look there are some nowadays. Businesses especially, alleys and common rooms of a retirement home most likely have them but I guess there would be no story in that case… Also it’s scary being in the mind of a serial killer

I’m taking a guess right now that his mother didn’t actually overdose. Maybe she was getting clean because she was pregnant and shortly after having Matt she discovered what her father was up to and he staged the overdose so the secret wouldn’t get out….

Um, I’m sorry?!? 😳 after the intro that ended with him saying “no more” to himself twice (and the title) made me hope his secret is he pinned the serial murders on that wedge guy, my jaw still dropped when I read this.

At this point I just feel confused by the plot and what’s going on. It just doesn’t flow well to me personally and I’m really struggling with it. I’d DNF it but according to the timer on kindle I only have 2hr 15 mins before I am done and at that point I might as well finish it to count it towards my reading stats since it has been a busy month for me

Noooo, she thinks herself a monster. My heart 🥲 I see someone broken after losing her parents and being manipulated into doing horrible things because she was “chosen” by the god the queen believes in

It’s so simple but the way she sees his glasses because she doesn’t understand their purpose….

With the “it’s your turn to tell it, love” I really hope it means they get. A happy ending together and this is their account of the story

My gut is telling me the now chancellor is the villain. She’s too power hungry is the impression I get of her

I think there is more to the time travel. She claims she got a paper cut the first time she opened the book but both times we have actually seen the book used she has only take his blood in some gruesome painful way. Maybe I am just reading into it though

He used Knight of Worms to describe Angel even though it was Una the people called that 🥲

What on earth is happening? Vivianne is also the queen hundreds of years ago? Why did she say she hated the horse if she didn’t plan for cancel to attack una? I still want answers as to how he was sent back. Magic is my guess because clearly the sword is magical but conformation would be nice

It is sad how much he’s twisting and omitting to make her story happy and motivating for the people of the future when it’s not the truth

All this similar to Christian terminology is curious to me….”God-the-Savior”, “One nation united under one God”, etc. I wonder where the author will go with this. As an exvangelical it’s hard not to want to run the other way from this book like I do with any books (even fiction) written by Christian authors.

Not a life changing book but it has my attention and the narrator does a great job

Rereading this book from the beginning and I am so excited about reading it

I am deciding this book isn’t for me. Reading through KU so I can DNF & not feel guilty. I am failing to see the point of Simone’s job. Private investigator basically yes, but the first story of her getting a client their revenge felt exactly like something the client could have planned on their own. It was entirely unoriginal and made her feel pointless. I also did not like the inner monologue narration
