Before he spilled anything he shouldn’t, I grabbed the torch at my boots and threw it away from the marble flooring, onto the rug. Thus, the room erupted in flames, the plants catching fire and sizzling, spreading the destructive orange light like a disease.

I choked on the smoke.
The castle would soon be ruins.

He licked his lips and asked, “Why do you serve someone you hate?”
Another pause followed. Bile crept up my throat. Annoyance shielded my malice. I put my act back on like a mask.
A guard. A boy who wore a tricorn hat. Nothing more. The man who refused to keep his knee bent; she didn’t deserve what she had any more than the rest of us.
“Because there’s nowhere else to go,” I whispered.

WIP sneak peak!:

Echoes from his throat-clearing made me tremble. But echoes were just echoes. Unless something greater haunted them. Like the talk of a prophecy.

“Take him to cell twenty-three.”

WIP quote!:

These men were deceitful. This was no Gypsum Island. This wasn’t where wolves stalked the evening dunes and hope rose with the sun. No. This was desolate and cold and dark and unwelcoming. This was the place of not only snow and pine trees, but of shadows and nightmares and demons.

“You liars! Where am I?!” No response. Only the echoes of my own terrified voice.

Those who have read the Selection Series by Kiera Cass… would you say they are pretty appropriate? Got two of them for free at the book box but just wanna make sure 🤪🤣

THE RING GOES SOUTH!

I went on a retreat this past weekend with my youth group. It was an amazing time; I grew in both friendships and in my relationship with Christ. I thought I would share one of my favorite songs from it with you. It’s about worship, referring to the sinful woman who washed Jesus’ feet. This song really stuck with me!
