Harlow is my favorite FMC ever!

I swear, I can barely stand her. She’s the princess of this and the consort of that, wrapped in layers of privilege and she's so self-entitled, while those poor men are ready to die for her. And yet she keeps insisting she’s an independent woman, when in reality she spends most of the story being rescued like a classic damsel in distress

60% in and Aurora is even worse than she was in the first book.

I'm enjoying it so far, but it's way too slow and I can't take another of these love declarations every other page. Please, spare us!

Loving it so far. The atmosphere, fast paced scenes, an impressive writing. On one hand I can't wait to see where this will lead, and at the same time I don't want to rush it.

Everybody wants her dead. The FMC is insufferable. I appreciate her determination to stay focused despite the circumstances, but I can't stand it when she acts like everyone hates her without any clear indication of that.

So far, I'm struggling. Not sure I'm liking it.

Fia is insufferable. I don't get nearly half of her emotion and reactions.

It's been two days and I'm still only 23% in. I'm not interested, I'm bored, and I don't get why she is so sulky. Ugh, I wish I liked it.

Less bored but still awaiting some more action

I'm bored.

The first part of the book flew by with revelations and action up to around the 40% mark. It struck a good balance between moving the plot forward and laying out all the necessary information for what’s to come. But now… we’re stuck in the quicksand of Avonleya. Nothing’s moving, everything’s at a standstill, and page after page is packed with information to absorb—but it’s all just... boring

Back again to pointless arguments and the blind, furious struggle for dominance. Ughhh

I’ve made it to the 50%—somehow. The plot is intriguing enough to keep me going, but wow... the pacing is painfully slow and there’s a lot of repetition. We’re in classic FMC territory here: “I’m the best, but also deeply traumatized,” which could be compelling if her behavior didn’t feel so inconsistent. She swings between fragile and fierce with little transition, and it makes her hard to connect with.

My opinion hasn't changed since last year—this book is a slog. The prose is choppy, the same thoughts and phrases are repeated over and over by both main characters, and any chance for real action is sacrificed in favor of endless mental ruminations. It's tedious, and honestly, I'm just pushing through so I can finally be done with it

Feels like a faded copy of book one: same characters complaining about the exact same things, same stale dynamics—only now with a heavier dose of bullying. And maybe it's just me, but the first chapters? a confused mess of rushed dialogues. had to reread the first ten chapters wondering, 'Wait, did I understand what just happened?' The only highlights? Visha and the dragon who stand out so far
