Oh, my. Very descriptive. Very repetitive. Can't take any more.

Marilyn Saul is starting A Fine Balance
halfway through and just have to take a break. Don't know why, but this book just hasn't drawn me in. I'll give it a try some other time.

A Fine Balance

Marilyn Saul
Marilyn Saul is starting Historical Whodunits
The quality of whodunits seems to decrease as one nears the half-way point of the book. Clever to put the interesting whodunits at the beginning of the book. Not sure I'll return to this one.

Halfway through and I've seriously lost interest. I'm moving on; may return some day, but not soon.

Marilyn Saul is starting Dancing at the Rascal Fair
I'm seriously struggling to finish this book. I'm bogged down in the incredibly stupid Angus/Anne/Angus/Adair 20 year infatuation idiocy. I don't for a minute think this idiocy happens - if it does, then there is no hope for men maturing.

The Bartender's Tale

Marilyn Saul
Marilyn Saul is on page 250 of 629 of Lucifer's Hammer
skimmed 150 pgs - filler - ridiculous introduction of people who never again appear and who have nothing to do with the event. Seriously bored

Marilyn Saul
Marilyn Saul is on page 142 of 296 of If Today Be Sweet
The first 1/3 was very interesting, as once becomes acquainted with the characters. Now I'm being treated to lengthy treatises of how each deals or doesn't deal with grief, separation, changes of heart and living circumstances, and I'm bored to tears. I've just lived too long (in my 70s) but I've already been through all this, and all I can say is that people are just like people everywhere, no matter your ethnicity.

Marilyn Saul is reading Life of Pi
I'm a quarter way through, and I'm just not used to reading such uncomplicated, droning prose. No intrigue, no suspense, just narrative that I just have not been able to "get into". I've set it aside in exchange for a book that draws me in, demands that I think, and, well, quite honestly, is better written.
