it’s not a bad novel certainly but this feels like it’s trying too hard to be deeply erudite and profound and insightful and it could pack a harder punch if it just…narrated, instead of every other page reminding you how smart it is

not going to finish this at least right now bc i was simply not having fun with it, it is not holding my interest and every time i pick it up to read it i think “ugh i guess i should try to make progress here before the library wants it back” so maybe ill give it another go at some point in the future but for now its going back
