I don’t want to DNF but I’m not liking the characterization of the mmc as early as now.

I hate it when authors introduce us to a hardened, ruthless, fearless man one minute then turn them to puppy eyed, longing teenager the next, waxing poetics about an fmc’s laugh so so early that they haven’t event met yet.

28% and it has become a tedious read. The characters a bit one dimensional. The couple are now crushing on each other but I can’t feel their connection at all.
