Bored but trying to stick it out.

Not sure why I’m still reading this - at a point where the main character genuinely annoys me and there’s nothing compelling about any of the characters. Will resist the urge to jump ahead…

Starting chapter 6 and not very excited but we we will stick with it for now 🫡

I liked this enough going in without knowing what it was about (friend xo sent a photo of the cover) but now knowing it’s a true story?? Obsessed

Almost quit at first bc subject matter and too much internal monologue but now I’m very into this, happy to be here!

And this is where I leave you…this is “literature” which is lovely and poetic but just not for me. It’s very descriptive and I’m sure finishing it would make me feel “moved” by the end but I’m just not really interested. It was nice while it lasted and I feel like if I randomly read a chapter again later it would still be a nice time but I don’t feel like I need the full story to appreciate that.

Struggling to care

Kind of disappointing - usually love books by this author but struggled to continue with this one. It only started hooking me a third of the way in but by then the ending part just felt rushed, as if things were worked out a certain way to get it all over with. If you’ve read books from this author before you know they all end a certain way, but this time it just felt more lazy than a mystery revealed.
