this needed more editing. the flowery, nonsensical metaphors feel jarring and silly rather than creating what i assume is supposed to be a lush, dreamlike atmosphere

that was incredible. extremely rare case of a sequel being better than book 1

also i'm really hoping we get more female side characters in book 2. as much as i liked Serret and Yarrow, it was a little annoying to just read about a bunch of men for most of this book. give Tenar some female friends/enemies/acquaintances please

this is so fun, i don't remember why i only gave this one 4 stars

the foreshadowing in this series is absolutely brilliant work for a children's story

i completely forgot about this plotline. what is going on

i vaguely remember not liking this book as much as the first one but it's been so long so we'll see

i forgot just how annoying he is. my chud son <3

this book is so much shorter than i remember it being. maybe because i read it in elementary school when i had no concept of books being longer than like 300 pages

finally rereading this staple of my childhood. let's see if it still holds up
