Book 1 is free, but this book isn't, and I'm already regretting spending the money. The formatting of the ebook is an absolute train wreck. There are random page breaks and line breaks midsentence, and the table of contents contains only the cover and dedication, soloed look navigating between chapters. This is all just what I've seen in the first 1%.

A typo in the first sentence . . . I'm going to go out on a limb and say the editing has not improved from book 1.

I'm struggling with this book because Elise just seems selfish to me, and I want more than that for Stellan. It's feels like he's just tossed around by her whims and only gets nice things on her terms.

Off to a great start . . . I'm such a sucker for maps at the beginning of fantasy books because they're a guarantee the author attempted this revolutionary thing called world building

I'm already crying big, lumpy-throat tears. This is going to be a mess.

Currently trying super hard not to yeet myself out of the prologue due to secondhand cringe, which is like secondhand embarrassment but comes with anxiety

I know the blurb warned about the swearing, but some form of the word "f*ck" has been used 60 times so far and I'm not even done with Chapter 1. I'm not offended by swearing and idk if I've ever complained about it in another book, but I'mgetting annoyed with it now because I'm actually starting to wonder if the characters know any other words.

I adore the dialogue in this series: "'I thought you wanted me to talk to Anthony?' 'Don’t kill him.' Miles’s face was blank. 'I know he’s messed up, but you promised Bianca he could be her fake brother. That would ruin everything.'"

"'No seats left, huh?' An awkward voice spoke on my left. I jumped because I hadn’t noticed him approach. He was an awkward looking guy." Guys, I think we're supposed to think that this character is awkward

I feel like I accidentally switched series because I swear the MC wasn't this stupid and irritating in book 1.
