Thoroughly engrossing and very interesting view of prime ministers of my lifetime. Excellent summary for each leader. Highly recommended for anyone interested in this period of British political history.

A splendid and insightful read up to now.

A dairy daily cruise through the covid pandemic with news developments and subtle comical anecdotes with all the Vodka Wardrobe characters. Then we go back to the December election and Christmas with further Vodka Wardrobe antics. A fun comical read with carachters we all warm to.😀👍

So far, a dark and uncanny secret, from the past, gets the story moving along nicely.

An exciting read about a gunboat based in Singapore. The Japanese have invaded Malaya and are advancing towards the island fortress. So far, so good.

There have been a few things developing that make this one compelling. Great seafaring feels about the story from many perspectives.

Good characters with limitations. Our equally flawed Captain must get his crew into shape. He has first-hand experience of the wicked seas. He is given command of a converted merchant cruiser S. S. Benbencula. A substandard ship but the crew must make the best of what they have. So far there have been some rather poignant and sad moments for the Captain as he reminisces his past and tries to organize his new crew.

Obviously seen the movie, but many friends advised me to read this. Therefore, I thought to start reading. So far very interesting.

My liking of these stories numbers a few things. This all makes for a good mix. The time setting of the sixties is the decade I grew up in. As a kid, the world seemed like a magical place and to a degree, this captures some of that self-made mystic. Many of the problems are man-made. If, not they tend to be something that is put to us, the reader, to imagine.
