The interviews are very redundant, «I didn't know how many kids I wanted I was just open to it» it's great that there are many examples of this but there's not enough new information, just driving in the core of the different women interviewed

As someone with a 10 year age gap in sisters, "The kids just jump on" no, they copy you and fill in when you can't get the job done. Viewing kids as extra helpers to do chores is just birthing out servants. When you start to rely on your kids, you take their efforts for granted and they grow resentful of their forced maturity. After being an age gap sister, I hope to have my kids close in age or 2 and 2 God willing

It's a bit hard to read. There's some French going on. I've been ignoring the French words so hopefully that's fine story wise

I'm enjoying it so far. The writing style is SO different from my norm. It's told as if a detective is going over a cold case in the modern (1950s) time but also as if the author was an onlooker in the books time (late 1700s in Paris)

I'm excited to learn how G acquires his unique scents

Bro how many semicolons and hyphens can you add to a sentence?? There's one paragraph that's just one single sentence 😭

Definitely a different writing style than I'm used to with some French words I'm not too familiar with. But so far the first chapter isn't too bad. A bit too smelly for my taste

read this series way back in middle school and loved it. I stopped at book 8 and i wish i never did. I'm rereading it and plan to finish it this time. Just finished book 5/12, I'm really enoying it so far. It definetly is a middle school reading level, but the story is nostalgic so I dont mind. I'll be adding this to the kids bookshelf. Easy read, each book is roughly 200 pages. excited to see how the story completes

Took a while for the story to pick up but after that it was a quick read.

Pretty upsetting that the ending was ungratifying. The whole story was him losing his wife and chasing the killer only to find out his partner already dealt with it kind of off to the side.

I did pick this up as the first book of the series when its the 12th. Many characters and time skips made it hard to follow but still good.
