I did not see that epilogue coning at all, that the antennas were previous site workers? Or it must just be Bishop cause they said she lasted way longer than the others? I was wondering if the Company was using new antennas to control what Riley did but it was Joe as an antenna and obviously Hannah there too damn

This book has been really great, so eerie and disgusting but creative and something completely new. So much of the imagery you can picture working so well in a movie, only it would probably be too gory. Interested to see how it ends, really wasn’t expecting Tyler and his men to gun down all the staff even though we were basically told. So good, great twists. Hopefully ends well.

Really great book that covers so much in really interesting detail. Gives very interesting perspectives and of course to break through with that information (possibly) on Marian.

So far interesting enough, will be interesting to see how it picks up and how everything spirals. Curious to see if the classic tropes of today about apocalypse and disaster movies will be the same or not. Third cylinder has just landed..

I really enjoyed his chapters, eerie and moved at a good pace. Just getting into her chapters now and interested to see if they’ll be able to replicate that atmosphere when she’s so far removed from it. Not looking forward to the infamous explanation of shopping though ..

I think I ultimately really enjoyed this book, it was interesting and engaging throughout. The ending was kind of annoying but I think that’s the point, she is gonna probably get another great selling book of the back of being ‘cancelled’ when she was scum. She ultimately views herself as the biggest victim and doesn’t see any of her bigotry. This was different and interest in and I think I’d go 85%

The way she sees herself as a victim, Athena as lucky cause she’s a diverse person so is sought after, and then Geoff is a white man so he has loads of room for failure but she doesn’t? Like she’s delusional, not sure how I’m feeling about this ending, will have to think and come back later with a review

Like a huge amount hasn’t happened and yet I am stuck into this. You’re just constantly seeing this conscience creep and calling out Athena for doing x and y, writing an award winning short story about the Korean War when she’s not even Korean, like she’s not doing the same and coming at it from a worse place. ‘Hang yourselves in your own rooms if needed’ is so grim and shows the protagonist’s lacking self awareness. Almost feels like she’s already slipping away from the awareness at the start where she was almost trying to appease the audience with her explanations for her actions. Loving it so far anyway

I am immediately bet into this book. It’s so interesting and I feel like I’m immediately flying through it. Really interesting characters and you immediately see it’s an unreliable narrator and yet you weirdly see her perspective for a second before she goes too far. Pace moved really well. Hard to see where it was going and my interest was maintained throughout. Probably give that like a 75/80 maybe even an 82 honestly?

Ok I actually really liked this, after reading a few crappy cliche crime thrillers, my standards were lowering but this was actually really good. Still a few cliches of course but overall enough twists and different that it wasn’t boring and the same. I like that she wasn’t pregnant and I like that she didn’t just magically fall in love but more a step towards it. I’m sad for Taggart I liked him.

V good v stuck into it, not sure where it’s going at all which makes me nervous so close to the end. Also don’t buy that Sloane wouldn’t be the type to believe in abortion, just get one you are not suited to motherhood

Ok feels like a huge escalation in the unhinged sociopathic behaviour of the protagonist. Like they were hitting a bit at that kind of behaviour but kind of insane escalation. Also thinking the women maybe still alive but that’s a fairly obvious possibility so

Like he picked this random taxi driver to do all this with idk dumb and stupid, it’s there’s a metaphor I don’t get it. Ok my feeling at this point is that this is kinda dumb but I was still so pleasantly surprised when the last card had his three friends. Idk maybe the grimy character grew on me but let’s see where this goes

I think all the characters are v gritty and not really in a good way, in a way that makes you feel like they’re all a bit grimey, idk if that’s just me being judgy. But they managed to make the dog feel not cute and cosy. This is the opposite of a cosy read, even when it’s nice and aw that underlying everything is grimy. I have no idea why I feel like that

Ugh I’m finding this such a hard read, I’m not sure why - I’m not very intrigued and I find the characters generally a bit icky

Ew she’s 15 and he’s following her and saying he has the hots for her, that’s all gross. I’m still not seeing where any of this is going? He’s the messenger and his message is to watch people struggle and do nothing basically?

(Seems on brand for Richard Osman lmao he’s smart that way) and there is probably some questions left that maybe weren’t considered well enough it’s a fun interesting read and I never could have predicted the end, so all in all I give it a good 80/85% cause what a fun read. Look forward to seeing how the movie goes!

Ok, idk why penny would have buried Peter in the Garden of Eternal rest, I’m not sure about that tie? I liked the Bogdan twist and happy he got away with it, but why would he tell Elizabeth’s husband unless he’s less cognisant than it seems idk, but I still really enjoyed the book. It’s all about the characters and I loved them. I was laughing the whole time and although it’s maybe a little too complicated

Ok Joyce’s chapters are actually so endearing. She’s such a sweet old lady, “I have become someone who has to keep their mobile on”😭😭😭

I really loved this book in the end. I didn’t see the tie in with Monique (?) ‘s dad. That was smart. And I liked the ending it was sad but at the same time there was a leave of contentness and satisfaction. Time was wasted but Evelyn ended up where she should have. I can’t really criticise the book, I think I would give it 90%, but I’ll round it up to 5 stars cause can’t justify rounding down.

Written so well so far, the chapters that are Joyce’s journal really do read like you’re chatting with an old woman. Getting invested already!
