Nah so disappointing it was the bank robber as a wow full circle moment but sure that made no sense. Why would he do that and how? Like he picked this random taxi driver to do all this with idk dumb and stupid, it’s there’s a metaphor I don’t get it. Super disappointed. 40/45% cause there were some feel good moments but all in all pretty dumb

Ok my feeling at this point is that this is kinda dumb but I was still so pleasantly surprised when the last card had his three friends. Idk maybe the grimy character grew on me but let’s see where this goes

I think all the characters are v gritty and not really in a good way, in a way that makes you feel like they’re all a bit grimey, idk if that’s just me being judgy. But they managed to make the dog feel not cute and cosy. This is the opposite of a cosy read, even when it’s nice and aw that underlying everything is grimy. I have no idea why I feel like that

Ugh I’m finding this such a hard read, I’m not sure why - I’m not very intrigued and I find the characters generally a bit icky

Ew she’s 15 and he’s following her and saying he has the hots for her, that’s all gross. I’m still not seeing where any of this is going? He’s the messenger and his message is to watch people struggle and do nothing basically?

(Seems on brand for Richard Osman lmao he’s smart that way) and there is probably some questions left that maybe weren’t considered well enough it’s a fun interesting read and I never could have predicted the end, so all in all I give it a good 80/85% cause what a fun read. Look forward to seeing how the movie goes!

Ok, idk why penny would have buried Peter in the Garden of Eternal rest, I’m not sure about that tie? I liked the Bogdan twist and happy he got away with it, but why would he tell Elizabeth’s husband unless he’s less cognisant than it seems idk, but I still really enjoyed the book. It’s all about the characters and I loved them. I was laughing the whole time and although it’s maybe a little too complicated

Ok Joyce’s chapters are actually so endearing. She’s such a sweet old lady, “I have become someone who has to keep their mobile on”😭😭😭

I really loved this book in the end. I didn’t see the tie in with Monique (?) ‘s dad. That was smart. And I liked the ending it was sad but at the same time there was a leave of contentness and satisfaction. Time was wasted but Evelyn ended up where she should have. I can’t really criticise the book, I think I would give it 90%, but I’ll round it up to 5 stars cause can’t justify rounding down.

Written so well so far, the chapters that are Joyce’s journal really do read like you’re chatting with an old woman. Getting invested already!

Surprisingly didn’t find Harry’s death sad at all? I really liked him throughout but something about it didn’t hit

V obvious Hugo wants to go assisted suicide route and too many mentions of Vivienne? Is that her name? ‘s father, the additional “the name my father gave me” hints at something idk what though, guessing her father knew Hugo or something and she has some connection maybe?

Calling it now, it’s giving Devil Wears Prada, the young one will have to impress Hugo and get the inside scoop. I’m fine if this is a fun predictable read, this is a pallet cleanser for me🤞🏻

Author made an artistic decision to use no grammar or paragraphs and these massive chapters. Was a waste of time. The artsy quotes didn’t hit.

Unlikeable and there was just something missing. You never find out what happens to any of them and Molly is the only one I cared about and she was becoming unreasonable in the end. Very unsatisfying read, grim and I like a bit of hope in a story about pushing back on things like that. So let down and didn’t enjoy the writing style either. 50% maybe?
