Gillenormand is kinda fun. Finally somebody acknowledges how dumb Marius is

Marius is such a loser just sitting there thinking about whether or not to alert the guards for like an hour while somebody is being tortured in front of him. Genuinely don’t know how Hugo expected people to like him

The way I just don’t care about Marius. I think I’d be fine with him if he was in the beginning of the book but putting him next to Jean Valjean just has me missing the earlier parts of the book.

Louis is a PERVERT. Adeline fainted and all he’s thinking is “damn she’s so sweaty she had to loosen her dress, that’s hot” like dude, not the time.

This book would be way shorter if the La Mottes just did some therapy instead of… Whatever this is. They could’ve had a cute little found family with Adeline but no, Pierre needs to go frolick in the forest or something and Madame de la Motte has to get irrationally paranoid and blame Adeline somehow
