Lowkey hack-ey for my book count that this manga is broken up into volumes cause each volume is pretty short, but I’m excited to burn thru this cause it’s so good.

I just read the translator’s preface by Mobi Ho and I’m feeling very excited to get into this book. He mentioned that Thich Nhat Hanh recommended that he write the translation slow and steady, in order to maintain mindfulness. I want to apply that same practice to reading this book, going slow and steady. One chapter per sitting, with time reserved to sit in reflection after.

It’s very inspiring that many of the most special things in her life occurred in her late 20s. Cynthia had not even seen Wicked until 25, to then kill the role in a film seen all around the world when she was 37. She did not start dating women until her late 20s. None of this to say postpone life, but it’s a reminder that we are never stuck. So long as we’re alive, every day can be a new beginning

I love that each chapter conveys a lesson. One that’s sticking with me is “Enough for Everyone”, in which Cynthia recaps her audition process for RADA. In the final audition, she and another girl had to perform the same scene back to back. The girl forgot her lines and Cynthia fed her the next few, no hesitation. Both got accepted to RADA, showing power of kindness and an abundance mindset

In interviews I love the way she talks, so I’m not surprised that I love her writing. Reading her words feels meditative, feeling nothing but my breath and her wisdom with each page.

I’m so close to finishing but this week I have not really had time to sit down and take in the ending the way I’d want to. Looking forward to my train ride home today cause that should be my time😁

Don’t usually read Sci Fi but I’m loving this. It’s surprisingly funny… and not surprising cause I’m a hater, I just wasn’t expecting it lol
