Already very good. I had to pull up an ebook version. You cannot just passively listen to these poems on a first go. I have to pause in between each and sit with them for a few seconds. Write my reflections. Honestly, I think I may have to get a physical version and annotate within it.

I'm just not wasting my time anymore.

Kind of confusing at first due to the narrative style. Kind of boring, but it's so hyped I'll stick to it.

Is this just a book about a popular and charismatic girl? I really hope something happens eventually, bc I'm so bored. I've heard that best thing about the books is how all of them come together. I hope this 1st one is able to stand alone somewhat.

There's so much unsaid here. The way Lila is described...we don't get to hear her talk much or even know her inner musings. This is like a book written about a crush or a muse. Likely, the idea/person Lenu has crafted that is supposed to be Lila is very different from the real Lila. Lila also seems very secretive and closed off. I think a lot is missing. This book is very slow. Not necessarily bad, just slow,

The language takes some getting used to. I have to read a bit slower, so as not to get confused.

Interesting 1st chapter. Definitely had to consult an online summary to understand the line of inheritance. All of the men had to same last name, it was so confusing, lol. I haven't read a physical book in a while. This was so refreshing.

It deals in absolutes with no real nuance. But I agree with the premise and most of the ideas so far. I just don't believe that believing in some of these ideas contradicts believing in others, but maybe they'll clarify or give more detail later.

This is slightly too urban for me. There’s a way to world-build in a urban setting, but I hate the way it’s done here. It’s not as lively as it could be.

Too much exposition. The plot was interesting, but it’s going on for too long with no major progress. And the world is a bit weird/off.

Enjoyable. No poem is standing out to me, but I’m still enjoying the read.

Don’t like the style at all. Nothing unique is being said. I really dislike the organizational style. This is less about self help and more a collection of personal essays.

I really like this. Perfect amount of exposition. He gets to actionable steps very quickly and tells you exactly what to do.

Was expecting more violence and less philosophy and existential reflection. Not bad, but I’d love for some action to finally take place.

Typical special girl from unlikely circumstances. Except, no badly done insta-love. She also wants to be where she is. She’s daring. I think it’s possible this book will end up doing something different, in a good way.

Great chapter. Glad she touched on surveillance. I have quite a few laws and events that I need to delve into now.
