Have been picking up a few good facts from this book so far. Like, the Cherokee and Choctaw fought on the Southern side in the Civil War, and the last Southern general to surrender was a Cherokee general, Stand Watie.

We're back to the "Peace" part-- I didn't realize it went back and forth between the war and the peace, which is nice. But my stomach has been more turned by the peace than by the war today.

At the "War" part of "War and Peace" and I prefer the peace part. Can't keep up with all the battle lines. Prince A.'s haughtiness is so unattractive. Spurs, sabres, and cannons.

Don't know if I'll read the whole thing, but this looks very interesting. It's short, obituary-like biographies of everyone who died in 9/11.

A. is a young man talented and seemingly perfect in his friend's eyes, with opportunity on his side, yet because of his marriage he feels like his life is closed. P. is a good-natured young man of less abilities, with no name for himself, with his whole life too open, unable to choose a profession. It's an amazing contrast.

Just 25 pages today, but if I read 50 a day, I'll be done in a month. I enjoy the beginning very much and Anna Scherer's soiree. I'll be updating!

Almost done. The finger part though...

Read to page 150 and only now get to Sam and Frodo.

Was a little worried that this one would be boring after the part where the author told how much his sandwich cost. But I'm learning a few things about Native Americans, and it's a pretty solid read so far.

I was tired since the second book, but read almost 100 pages of this one without stopping. I can't put it down.
