The writing style and exposition is so very straightforward and simplistic yet the plot and characters have me insanely invested already

Do I tend to like Freida McFadden thrillers? Not particularly. But I have a month of spotify premium and this was an audio book there so lo and behold, here I am. (As someone who doesn't listen to audibooks, this is actually a good one to start with due to the simplistic prose.)
