There is too much internal dialogue/exposition from Red and it’s getting annoying. I am skimming whole paragraphs at a time because it does nothing to advance the story or reveal anything new.
I thought I might be rating it a 5 but now think a 3.

The italicized and parenthetical exposition gets tedious about a third of the way in.
