I read this book many years ago and remember that I enjoyed it back then. I thought I’d revisit it and listen to the audiobook. The narrator made it impossible for me to listen.

Skimming through trying to find some story that isn’t just the FMC being a willing prostitute while pretending not to be willing off & on. I would have some respect for her if she just owned up to her choices. If she enjoys it, more power to her. That’s the only plot in sight… Her actions show she’s ok with being owned and used. She also pretends she has no other choice when she most certainly does.

I can’t make myself respect the FMC at all & I tried. But it’s hard to have respect for a character that has none for herself. Seriously considering not finishing. At halfway through you would expect some plot but it’s just mostly smut. What meager story there is super predictable.

Skipping the bulk of the chapters with Silla & Ray.

Halfway through and the miscommunication trope is ridiculous for a 4th book. Just more added unnecessary filler.

Skipped to the end after 51% . I didn’t finish this one but maybe I’ll read the next. 🤷🏻‍♀️ but only if it’s the last one. 😬 I hope Oro & Grim both decide that they & their kingdoms are better off moving on. Get into that friend zone and save the world. It’s just ridiculous at this point.

I seem to be having bad luck with my book choices. This will be my second DNF in a row. The FMC is not too bright. And from other reviews I’ve read, it doesn’t seem like it gets better. I knew this was a dark romance when I started it, but there is absolutely no part of me that can believe someone would make some of the choices the FMC made under the circumstances she made them in. It reads like a parody.

I listen to audiobooks because if I don’t, I don’t get to enjoy books because I fall asleep 😂 The MMC narrator is so intense. His narration reminds me of anime. Everything he says is so serious & it seems like he’s trying way too hard. It’s not that he’s bad, it’s more like he’s not a good fit for the story. It’s distracting and I keep skipping through his chapters. So I won’t be finishing.

Morgan is so annoying. I need to find books with more mature characters. She’s acts like a spoiled child. I would expect some growth but she seems to have regressed.

The FMC is so unlikeable and impossible to relate to. I can’t imagine being so fake & not having an ounce of self respect as an adult woman. 😬

Man, almost all the characters are horrible people. The only good characters are Thomil & Kira. I hope this book ends with Tiran burning to the ground…

I like the story so far. I’m not a fan of the audiobook. The narrator is making it hard to continue. She’s whispering the entire story & mostly monotone.. I don’t remember the first one sounding this bad.

I can’t recommend. The characters are like junior high kids without any growth.. The book is way too long. I am about 80% in and at this point I don’t even care what happens in the end. 😬

About halfway through and I’m considering just skipping to the end. The FMC is aware she acts like a spoiled petulant child and she just keeps on acting like it.

Dnf audiobook. I couldn’t get past the female narrator. I may try to read a physical copy in the future.

At 72%. I’ve come this far, so I’m going to push on. There’s so much unnecessary inner monologue and interactions.

I’m 43% through the audiobook. I don’t know if I can finish this book. The story so far is not believable & the female narrator is making it so much worse.🤷🏻‍♀️

I’ll finish because I made it this far. But this book is infuriating. The MMC is not redeemable and there is absolutely no chemistry between him & the FMC. I kept hoping it would get better… But I was disappointed. I can’t imagine any ending that could redeem this story. Opinions are subjective, and this is mine. I will not be reading any of the future books.
