Idk what I think. I love the writing style and the story, except for the SA and rape at the start, wtf. And this is so heavily influenced by the Magicians, I start to wonder if it started out as a fanfiction.

This sucks to say, but I’m really hating this book

This book is already turning out to be a miss for me. I am having a really hard time getting into it. Which sucks, because normally he is one of my favorite authors. This one and the last one haven't caught my attention in any way though.

I can see why this was DNFed and given a lot of bad reviews. It isn't the best writing and seems more like a draft. But I can also see why it was the first ebook to sale over a million copies on Amazon. I can't stop reading. I love seeing Amanda's writing in this vs the greatness it is now. Gives me hope for my own.
