Not bad so far. Funny and lighthearted, and fast paced.

Spoiler: Bishop Wilfred’s a bit of an arsehole. Starting a tradition many would follow.

Descriptions are nice, well thought and colourful.
Fast moving story already.
Will continue.

I’m calling it now, she’s going to end up as some sort of long lost princess.
1) the love interest is royal and 2) she’s being guided by weird temporal ghosts.

Lisander’s a nice surprise, though.

The writing is descriptive and almost poetic - I’m enjoying the rhythm and pace of each paragraph, let alone each chapter or “act”.
A real page-turner, gutted that chores and work are interrupting my reading time!

Simple, easy to put down and pick up holiday reading.
So far, just very sweet and cosy.
Nothing too exciting.

I cannot put this book down. I roar from chapter to chapter, determined to see these siblings reunited but knowing that only 38% of the way in, the result I want to see is so far away, if feasible at all!
Some more folklore / fantastical elements entering into the story, but not taking away from the danger and darkness that war has already caused to the landscape and the protagonists.
Literally gripped!

This is already haunting and I’m gripped.
Dragged between the trenches and Halifax chapter after chapter, heart gently aching for the protagonists to achieve what comes next so that I can witness their success. I really hope it’s success!

There is too much “fluid” in this chapter for this time in the morning. 💦
Eww.

This is too funny.
Jumps straight into smuttiness and all those ridiculous things.
Not deep, no prose, just an orc and his floating human lady.

I would find it more interesting if Violet had to withstand the same trials as her squad.
Somehow she is able to withstand the lore that is made around her with no explanation.
Also frustrations that when obstacles arose for her to navigate, they’re taken out by a wyvern or some luck by the next chapter.
Noted she speaks over “leadership” and does what she wants anyway - in which case, she should be Queen!

Trying to drag myself through the slow pace - hoping we pick up some speed re plot development soon. 🤞🏻

Oh my. What a twist!

Some more twists and turns, not everything unexpected but enough to make me pay attention and straighten up in my seat.
Enjoying to dynamics between Violet and her siblings, Violet and her friends. Xaden seems to be fluctuating and I’m not sure I’m on board.
Hot take: would like to see a little more of the new improved Dain.
Otherwise, strapping in for sh*t to hit the fan!

I’ve reached part 2.
So far the pace has begun to improve and the inevitable clash of “goodies vs baddies” has occurred in its initial stages. Glad the plot is progressing!

I am pleased with Dain’s character development, though I think a more controversial take would be to have him choose his other potential path.
Violet’s doing great. I’m enjoying her relationship with Xaden, and her friends.

The pace has once again slowed in the first half.
The new baddie is quite typical for a sequel - I don’t think I’m far enough in to understand his motives for being a prick.

Violet’s character continues to develop and acknowledgement of her strengths and weaknesses is encouraging.

Looking forward to some more plot development.

Slow start, definitely.
Picking up a bit more and more smutty tones, which I don’t think are needed as the lore itself is quite engaging.
Can’t critique too much though as I’m hooked!
