Somewhat off topic from the book but I can’t stop thinking about that infamous picture of the mountain of buffalo skulls. If you haven’t seen it I recommend you do, to me it’s the embodiment of extinction.

A book written in the late 1500s/ early 1600s, translated in the early 1900s and now as of last year an audiobook. The reader cautions that the book reads like an old grandfather retelling his past tales. Already know it’s gonna be a 5/5 star kind of book.

I bet the first 30 minutes of this book filters out a lot of people who can’t be bothered to listen to quotes about hunting whales and various whale corpse activities and Nantucket lore.

In a book titled “the devils” I wasn’t expecting kibler elves.

It’s not every day you find a series with 6 back to back bangers then a mediocre middle once it swaps hands to a different author. I think I’ll reread through all the main ones I have already to see if my mind changes because I normally stop after finishing vampire slayer during my yearly rereading.

It’s really hard for me to put this series down once I start from the beginning

Seriously if you’re planning on running any kind of medieval fantasy game you should read at least the first two books in this series and take all the ideas it presents.
