I know that Amelia is supposed to serve as another vignette of how hopelessness and lack of purpose drives people to desperation and we the reader are not necessarily supposed to empathize with her, but I think it takes a lot of strength to look at the most dire of circumstances and decide to help, to be kind in the only way you can justify. I know we won’t get closure on her in this book but I hope she found peace
