I truly enjoy this book and the writing makes it addictive somehow. It also feels very honest, which is perhaps the most important part about it.

I feel seen.

I sometimes get confused by the structure of a few sentences. It feels a lot like a persons real thoughts that don’t travel in a straight line. Thought are sometimes hard to follow. Perhaps that is one of the things that make this book feel son honest and raw. It truly feels like something real, you can touch. Until this point of the book I would like to use the word “honest”to describe it. Honest.

So excited about this book! It’s been on my mind to read it for so long and last week we got assigned to do so for English class. I’ve heard only good things about it, things like it’s life changing.

I am so scared of how the ending is going to unravel. Scared but excited and eager to know the ending. Filled with a rush of adrenaline. “First the reckoning. Then, the fall”.
But truly, I have NO idea how it will end. Why Oliver went to prison for a murder he didn’t commit. I mean he kind of did. But SO DID THE OTHERS.Will Oliver sacrificing himself for the others by turning himself in?Or to keep his sanity?

Bro I thought they were going to kiss. I’m going to be SO disappointed if nothing happens between them.

I think Colborne placed the fabric in the fireplace. He had to know Oliver would find it. I’m sure of it. He put it there to see if he could trust him. Colborne: “ I’m guessing you will get a good look at this place as you clean. If you find anything unusual… well let’s just say I wouldn’t mind being kept in the loop” if Oliver gave it too him, it would prove he doesn’t have anything to hide.

Her head rested on my chest; and I wondered if she felt the fleeting stillness of my fitful, troubled soul.

I can’t read it. I can’t. I don’t know how. I don’t want to deal with the pain that is about to wash over me.
I ignore it by closing the book, deciding to read tomorrow instead. Because I can feel the pain getting closer with each page I turn and I’m not ready. (will I ever be?) I want to finish it but I just can’t. I don’t know how. Even though I have no idea how it’s going to end. I can feel it.

I swear to God if Finch dies at the end, I die. It is not allowed to happen because I will shatter and hurt. Although, there is nothing that indicates he will take his life, except that he thinks about it all the time… But Violet must be enough for him to stay. RIGHT??? Otherwise this book should be illegal to read for mentally unstable people, like myself, because it will leave me with wanting to die too.

A lot of the thoughts and wishes that Finch has, I know too well, like wanting to feel, matter and to be where my feet are. Although I’m not brave enough to actually climb up a bell tower or drive faster than the wind, I wish I was. Maybe I’m more like Violet in that way in need of a push. But there is no one around to give it. Where is my Theodor Finch?

This book is just too fucking good. Finch is everything, free, on fire, searching, lookin, deep, sudden, everything and it’s all so real. (Jeff Buckley reference) I see so much of myself in this book and it’s characters. Continuing in the next log.

I have a very strong feeling that Andie Bell is indeed not dead and I have been thinking this since the encounter with the old woman at the hotel that said she saw Andie not that long ago. I also think that she faked her own death and that she then killed Sal!? It could make sense story wise but I also don’t know why she would do that.

It is exiting and I am unsure if the mystery will unravel in this book of if it will continue onto the next one because there isn’t a lot left.
My main prediction since a few pages back is that Andie Bells sister is the killer. Although I might be completely of the track but it’s just the vibes I’ve been getting and it would be quite a shocking and twisted ending.
