Dry and getting drier. I can't bring myself to go on - some interesting insight into the past of the country but the nature of it makes it unsuitable for casual reading

Slow going, it's like talking to the old man and I don't mean that in a good way. We'll see, maybe it brightens up in the second half?

Can't get into any of these characters - they all seem like victims and none of them take any responsibility for their fates. Very frustrating

Good Lord what have I gotten myself into? Slow going and I just can't get into any of the characters.

Mohamed is finished with The Once and Future King (The Once and Future King, #1–5)
Well I finished it and I have to say it was hard going. It wasn't what I was expecting and strangely episodic, repetitive and reflective. I suppose White is trying to echo Mallory while giving lessons to the modern reader but I think I may be wrong on that score.

Sweet jeebus the last 40 pages or so have been tense and shocking and brutal and all that surprisingly far from the end of the book. Whoa
