This, so far, reads like a podcast. By reads, I mean the audiobook read by the author. There are a surprising number of low reviews, but then I realized quickly that it may have something to do with the author talking about Covid and socioeconomic inequalities with a leftist viewpoint.

It reads like a podcast in that it is about the topic but also very much about the author’s experience in relation to the topic.

I just feel like this is going to end stupidly. I’m over this story, but I’m going to power through. Read this book solely because Sarah Snook and Dakota Fanning. I trust their judgment and acting, but I can’t see this ending in a non ridiculous way.

Not a fan, unfortunately. I may try to push through, but this is the second masturbation scene that just feels too heavy handed for its political commentary. Like, I get the concept. I like the concept. But it’s just a lot. I feel like this book would benefit from subtly and suspense building.

I put it down to read another book. I may finish, but this is the first book in a long time I am considering DNF’ing

I was hoping I’d start liking this more by now. I feel like this was an interesting concept that jumped the shark like American Horror Story always does.

So annoyed.

I could DNF this book right now and never think about this book or care about unanswered questions. It’s not that I dislike it, but I am just not connecting.

Is the sexual assault that’s being labeled as bullying really necessary? I feel like it probably won’t be. If anything, I feel like it will just be groundwork to kill the teen bully off without remorse.
