It’s the moment in most thrillers where I have to google the author with an ambiguously gender name because I have a nagging suspicion this is written by a man with very poor takes on women, fat people, infidelity, and therapy.

This, so far, reads like a podcast. By reads, I mean the audiobook read by the author. There are a surprising number of low reviews, but then I realized quickly that it may have something to do with the author talking about Covid and socioeconomic inequalities with a leftist viewpoint.

It reads like a podcast in that it is about the topic but also very much about the author’s experience in relation to the topic.
