A genuinely hysterical cover filled with cover quotes that make me burst out laughing. Looking forward to it.

It’s been awful. Nothing is happening. Character uninteresting, the writing pedestrian, no stake, and scenes run on far too long. Really want to dnf.

The word “disease” first came to mind. Then the word “dog.”

Sometimes you just wish two people could just fuck and get it over with, spare us the tedium and the pretense of a detective novel.
Good GOD I cannot give less than a toss about the British lizard people

HRT! HRT! HRT! HRT! HRT!

Painful. So many things to love about this book, so many others to loathe.

Not a fan of how short each chapter is. Makes the whole thing feel flimsy, fragmented, and it runs horribly against the slow and quiet mood the myriad of environmental description of the island has cultivated. Feels like I’m scrolling through a bunch of TikTok shorts. We will see how the plot holds.

What a ride. WHAT A RIDE!

Love it so far, completely immersed, rare for a genre fiction to drag me in like this, I’m sold

Let’s see if those Estonian fellas really know their things or are they just full of it.
I’m just kidding. Those people can do no wrong.

It’s about AIDDDDDDDDDDDS!
It’s pretty good so far. Great writing style.

I lied. The book is deathly boring. One meandering scene after another where nothing happens and everyone just drones on and on in the literary equivalent of shot reverse shot.

Abstinence mentioned in sim-like dialogues, this is one of the most entertaining read I have had in a long time.

Is this American Protestantism: The Book? I’m sold.

I’m thinking of DNFing this one it’s getting a bit painful ngl. Unless something extraordinary is going to happen in the next fifty pages, I don’t think I will make it.
