cant believe I got talked into reading a 40k book

learning a lot about logic and math for some reason but I’m here for it

i ran the math and i have read ~264,422 words of different web series since the end of may so about a 600 page book

ive read almost 250,000 words of online sci-fi horror writing thats not on goodreads but i WILL be back. eventually... this current series is about a town dictated by the laws of fiction and its hilarious

the good: this book is gearing up to be a hilarious critique of academia. the fact that the magic in this world works on the user's "single-minded capacity for limitless self-delusion" as well as the fact that two overworked grad students are willing to go to literal hell to get a good job is a nice twist on the classic conventions of the genre.

the bad: rivals to lovers

goated magic system, its pretty much coding mixed with the magic from jonathan stroud's bartimaeus sequence

What we know so far about bullshit:
1. It’s everywhere. Everyone knows it, and everyone participates in it.
2 Its purpose is to misrepresent the speaker or what is being spoken of.
3. It isn’t quite lying, but pretty close.
