giving direbound a second chance 🤷🏼‍♀️. I first read on audio (which I only ever eyeball read) and that didn’t give me a good experience , so I’m trying again eyeball reading , fingers crossed 🤞🏻

Something about this book is slightly off and I can’t put my finger on it ??? the world and pacing are good, but I think the emotional depth isn’t quite landing for me yet, the character motivation feels more surface-level & something to check off in the book to just meet plot/story expectations (anger, revenge, etc.) rather than fully developed yk ?? & some of the dynamics feel a bit predictable & too YA 🥲
